Oscar winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are just rackin’ up work, man: having already announced that they’d score Waves, a dramatic musical from from writer/director Trey Edward Shults (It Comes at Night), the dynamic duo have also now signed on to score Mid90s, a new coming-of-age movie which marks the behind-the-camera debut of writer/director Jonah Hill (SuperbadThe Wolf of Wall Street, etc.).

Reznor and Ross’ involvement makes sense insofar as Reznor was at the height of his powers during the time period to which the movie’s title refers; it makes a little sense in that the trailer gives the distinct impression that this is going to be a hip-hop-centric affair.

I guess we’ll see how this works out.

Mids90s will premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival next month; it hits theaters on October 19. Assume the score will be released sometime around then, too.
