These Taproot B-Sides and Rarities are Pretty Dope

0

“Dope” and”Taproot” are probably not two words you’d expect to see in the same sentence at MetalSucks. But check it out: 1) I like Taproot, it’s true, 2) Taproot are undoubtedly Ann Arbor’s second finest rock export (Six Clips own that category) and 3) Face it, “dope” is actually the perfect word to describe Taproot.

So: Taproot are getting set to release an extensive eight-CD / 130 track b-sides and rarities collection titled Besides (order here), and since 130 tracks is a metric fuckton of material they’ve unveiled a whole bunch of tracks for the public in advance of the set’s release. The PRP, always the #1 source for B-level nu-metal news, has collected several of those together for at least one person’s listening pleasure.

“Except I Love You,” which sounds like something from the Welcome / Blue Sky Research period, is my favorite of the bunch so I’ll post that first below. “Kevin Spacey” is also interesting in that it was intended to feature Layne Staley on vocals, so I’ll embed that second. Check out the rest, too; if you enjoy Taproot, I reckon you’ll like them all.
