Exclusive Video Premiere: Horndal, “Häng Honom”Swedish quartet Horndal will release their new album Remains next week, and MetalSucks is pleased to premiere the video for “Häng Honom” (Swedish for “Hang Him”) today.

Horndal offer an intriguing mix of punk, metal and hardcore that has elements of each but sounds like none. Punk fans will jive with the galloping beat, metal fans will bang their heads to the thrashy riffs and hardcore fans will appreciate the band’s unbridled energy and shouted vocals — something for everyone!

Remains tells the true horror story of the devil’s destruction of the band’s namesake rural hometown in the 1970s. Wikipedia is mum on the issue, simply reporting that the town had 1,114 inhabitants as of 2010, but the band tells us the following:

“The video depicts the true horror story of the devil’s destruction of their hometown of HORNDAL in the 1970’s; A small, industrial centre found amongst the woods of Sweden – the steel mill which was the lifeblood of the community was threatened with closure. This was dramatized in protest as social allegory as the devil casts his shadow over the town and sends their exploited workers to an early grave. Sadly, the livelihood of the people was indeed closed down along with the mill and the town was left for dead.”

Remains comes out on February 22nd via Prosthetic Records; pre-order here. Upcoming tour dates beneath the embed.
