847896603_l.jpgOne of my favorite bands of the early 90s is Ugly Kid Joe; they made two or three of the best Motely Crue albums Motley Crue never made, but their brief flirtations with stardom (for the anthem “I Hate Everything About You” and their re-make of Cat Stevens’ “Cats in the Cradle”) never came to fruition because, I dunno, they didn’t wear flannel and sing about wanting to off themselves.

ANYWAY, UKJ singer Whitfield Crane is now ready to stage a comeback with Another Animal, who, as far as I can tell, are Godsmack without Sully Erna, making Crane the Scott Weiland to their GN’R. I don’t think the first song posted on their MySpace page, “Find a Way,” is that remarkable, but I’ll be curious to hear the album when it drops in September. At least Crane, unlike Sully Erna, can a) sing and b) drive.
