VIDEO OF THE DAY: UGLY KID JOE, “CAT’S IN THE CRADLE”
When this song came out, I bought the single on tape at the local Coconuts on 6th Ave (remember those stores? Ah, the good old days) and I listened to it so much that the tape eventually wore thin and played slowly (ah, tapes, remember those? boy did they suck). To this day this great cover of the Harry Chapin classic remains probably one of the best commercially released covers of the entire ’90s; only Marilyn Manson’s “Sweet Dreams” comes to mind as being as good. This video storyline doesn’t quite match the time line of the son character in the song… but whatever, it was the ’90s.
