VINCE’S REVIEW OF THE TOOL SHOW; HOLMDEL, NJ, JULY 18, 2007

40

Every time I go see Tool I see one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen in my life; and we go to a LOT of concerts. Tool is just that good; their music is technically demanding, dynamic and visceral, and their live show takes every bit of that emotion to the next level. Though the four band members barely move on stage (Maynard stands on a platform in the back, shrouded in darkness!), the top-notch laser light show paired with video animations and projections done by the band’s own guitarist Adam Jones make for a stage show that is second to absolutely no one. There isn’t really much else to say; my words can not possibly do justice to the incredible feeling palpable in the air at Wednesday’s show, the last of their U.S. tour. Tool is without a doubt one of the greatest bands of our generation and their legacy will continue long after the band stops producing music. I feel blessed to have been able to see them four times in my life; and counting. Enjoy this photo courtesy of LarteLove on Flickr.
