WHICH IS BETTER, GUTTURAL SLAM or DEATHCORE??? (A FRIENDLY BATTLE)

I like to think of myself as a very open-minded consumer of music with exceedingly eclectic tastes that defy easy classification. For example, if you were to look at my iPod, you would find everything from Female Nose Breaker to Orchidectomy to Guttural Secrete on my playlists. Basically, I like everything except for rap and country — although that ‘Cowboy Troy‘ guy seems very talented! With that said, I thought it would be fun to have a playful “BATTLE OF THE BREAKDOWNS” between two of the most popular metal subgenres right now, DEATHCORE and GUTTURAL SLAM, so I put together this short, 9-minute video that compares the two.

What do you think?? Which genre is the best????? Do you prefer the no-nonsense, chromatic brutality of GUTTURAL SLAM, or the more accessible, radio-friendly stylings of today’s up-and-coming DEATHCORE artists???
