SOUNDGARDEN “LIVE TO RISE”

Last year, Marvel put a Foo Fighters song, “Walk,” over the closing credits of Thor, the reasoning being that they were too chicken shit to use an Amon Amarth song, which would have been much more appropriate the song’s lyrics are all about humility, and Thor had to learn to be humble or whatever. Now the company is dipping into the 90s alt rock well again for their big 2012 release, The Avengers: the flick will feature a new Soundgarden song, “Live to Rise,” I guess because Soundgarden, like The Avengers, are more powerful together than they are when they go solo. Sure. That sounds right.

ANYWAY, the song is now streaming here if you wanna listen to it. I think it’s boring as fuck, but I admit the chorus got stuck in my head after I listened to it, so maybe it’s a grower… or maybe it’s just as good as a Katy Perry song. It’s their first new tune in fifteen years, so there’s that. In any case, The Avengers soundtrack comes out May 1 if you like it enough to buy it.
