“KINGDOM OF TYRANTS”: THE NEW CATTLE DECAPITATION VIDEO IS INSANE

…in no small part because it’s not really a video so much as it is a short film — the song’s running time is only 4:51, but the clip is actually nine minutes long. Amazingly enough, this ambitious attempt at making something which will stand out a little more than the average video mostly works; Like the cover art for Cattle Decap’s new album, Monolith of Inhumanity, there are overt references to Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, but director Mitch Massie’s vision is considerably more lo-fi and nightmarish than Kubrick’s ever was.
