Music Premieres

In case the Dio-tastic cover art for his new album, Holy Drivel, doesn’t make it readily apparent, comedian Derek Sheen is a huge metalhead. The intro music on his website is Dio’s “Stand Up and Shout,” he’s worked as a roadie for King Crimson and Trey Gunn, and even got Matt Bayles, whose credits include albums by Mastodon, Isis, The Sword, Botch, and Norma Jean (to name but a few), to produce Drivel — which is the first time Bayles has ever worked on a spoken-word release. And while all of Sheen’s metal cred should be enough to get any headbanger’s attention, he obviously wouldn’t be able to hold said attention if not one for simple, undeniable fact: he is one funny motherfucker.

MetalSucks is proud to debut an uproarious excerpt from Holy Drivel, which you can stream after the jump! If the phrase “eight to ten room temperature dicks on or near my face” doesn’t make you laugh ’til it hurts, you have no soul. (Oh yeah, you might not wanna listen to this at work.) You can pre-order the album from Rooftop Comedy Productions here in advance of its October 30 release date. You can get tour dates for Derek after the jump as well. Enjoy!
