“The Diplomat” Video: Pig Destroyer Go Apeshit

Noisey has debuted Pig Destroyer’s new video for the song “The Diplomat,” and, shock of shocks, it’s awesome. Directed by Phil Mucci, it obviously owes a debt to Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, what with its apes-discovering-weapons storyline (I guess 2001 is “in” this year), but it’s even more tripped out that than that movie… like if you watched 2001 after taking twice as much LSD as you’re supposed to take before watching 2001. Like Pig Destroyer’s music — or a Kubrick film, for that matter — it is by turns disturbing, funny, thought-provoking, and weird in the best possible way. Watch:
