Jeff Loomis has posted the following message on his official website:

On April 22nd in Corpus Christi, Texas, I got the very sad news of my father’s passing right before we were about to perform. I will be flying home to be with my family tonight and will rejoin the Soilwork tour in Richmond, VA on the 29th.  Thank you all for your support and warm thoughts.

My dad meant the world to me and this is a very difficult time for both me and my family…

– Jeff

In addition to last night’s show in Houston, TX, that means Loomis will not be appearing at the following shows:

04/26/13 State Theater – St. Petersburg, FL
04/27/13 Freebird Live – Jacksonville, FL
04/28/13 The Casbah – Charlotte, NC

This should go without saying, but losing your father is terrible… and really, even the word “terrible” undersells the feeling. Honestly, I think it’s amazing that Loomis is only missing these shows and not sitting out the rest of the tour completely. Our thoughts are with Jeff and his family during this painful time.

Here are the upcoming tour dates with Soilwork on which Loomis will still appear:

04/29/13 Kingdom – Richmond, VA
04/30/13 Soundstage – Baltimore, MD
05/01/13 Mexicali Live – Teaneck, NJ
05/02/13 The Chance Theater – Poughkeepsie, NY
05/03/13 Broadway Joes – Buffalo, NY
05/04/13 Al Rosa Villa – Columbus, OH
05/05/13 Music Hall – London, ON – CANADA
05/06/13 Station 58 – Syracuse, NY
05/07/13 The Palladium – Worcester, MA
