No longer are awesome, free metal concerts the sole domain of sock manufacturers: venerated sneaker company Converse is giving you the opportunity to have your entire foot wardrobe taken care of with their Represent free concert series in San Francisco later this month! The five day concert series will span a variety of music genres and will host both established and upcoming acts, running from June 23 through June 27 at Slim’s in San Fran.

There are a TON of excellent acts outside the metal realm, but these are the bands and days that MetalSucks readers in the Bay Area are not going to want to miss:

June 26: Quicksand, Mastodon, High On Fire, Saviours, Hot Lunch
June 27: Suicidal Tendencies, Rocket From The Crypt, The Bronx,Ceremony, The Shrine

Did we mention all of these shows are completely FREE? All you’ve got to do to attend is sign up right here; since demand is going to be high, winners will be chosen randomly and notified by email after registration closes on June 18th. So if you wanna make sure you go, increase your chances of winning by making sure all your friends sign up too. Doors are 6pm nightly and these shows are all ages.

All the action leads up to the grand opening of the Converse San Francisco retail store on June 28. Here’s that sign-up link once again: http://conversemusic.tumblr.com/represent

As a reminder, MetalSucks has our very own promotion happening with Converse right this second, in which we offered 5 bands the chance to record for free in Converse’s Rubber Tracks recording studio in Brooklyn. Registration for that is now closed, but we’ll be announcing the featured bands very soon.
