You know what’s kinda fucked up? Due to the infamous “unforeseen circumstances,” I still haven’t seen Baroness perform a proper set of material from Yellow & Green, possibly the best (and at the very least my favorite) album of theirs to date. They played a couple of songs live when I saw them between Meshuggah and Decapitated in early 2012, but the album wasn’t out yet so it was all new to me; I didn’t yet know how much I’d come to love those songs. Baroness made their much heralded return to the U.S. this spring with a handful of dates, but we’re still almost a month out from their first official stop in NYC (House of Vans show notwithstanding). I can’t wait!
So now’s my chance to live vicariously: the band will release their live EP Live at Maida Vale tomorrow, and I’m streaming it right now via Alt Press. All four songs are from Yellow & Green, so it’s exactly what the doctor ordered. Stream the EP at Alt Press and order it here.
