Update, 9/12/13, 1:27 p.m.: Allegaeon have confirmed Gilsan’s departure from the band. Read the full story over at The PRP. Our original story follows below.

Guitarists Wes Hauch and Ryan Gilsan are apparently combining forces with former Decapitated bassist Marcin “Martin” Rygiel for a new, yet-to-be named project, which they’ve announced via the below teaser video. Hauch, you are probably aware, is also in The Faceless, while you may be familiar with Gilsan’s work from Allegaeon, Pyrithion, and other bands whose name does not end with the word “on” proceeded by a vowel.

Which is where the story takes a turn: as The PRP notes, “interestingly [Gilsan] is listed in the below video as now being an ex-member of Allegaeon.” But there hasn’t been any official announcement about Gilsan ankling that group, and as of this writing, he’s still listed as a member on their Facebook page. I really dig Allegaeon, so it will be kind of a bummer if it turns out that Gilsan really is out of that group now. But he’s clearly a talented dude (I thought the Pyrithion EP was cool, too. But Pyrithion are obviously going nowhere fast given the whole Tim Lambesis situation, soo00o…), and the music in this video sounds pretty rad, so I guess he’s already well on his way to landing on his feet.

ANYWAY, enjoy this video while we eagerly await more details:
