Sepultura Enter “The Age of the Atheist”
Metal Hammer has debuted “The Age of the Atheist,” the first single from Sepultura’s forthcoming The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart. A lot of fans have really high hopes for this album, ’cause it reunites the band with Roots producer Ross Robinson… but this isn’t very good. Sections of it are fine, but none of it is super-memorable, and it doesn’t exactly have me foaming at the mouth to hear the rest of the album.
In other words: it’s like 99% of all post-Max Cavalera Sep.
In OTHER other words: Ross Robinson was not the missing ingredient with regards to restoring Sepultura’s glory.
The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart comes out October 29 on Nuclear Blast. That same week, Sepultura kick off a tour with Unearth, Kataklysm, Dark Sermon, and, on select dates, Scar the Martyr and Anciients. Get the full tour itinerary here.
