Drummer Joey Jordison Parts Ways with Slipknot

Well, this is certainly a shock! Slipknot have posted the following message on their official website:

Jordison, of course, is a founding member of the band, and is revered by fans, and although he’s had some public disagreements with some of his band mates in the past, I never really thought he’d leave the group… especially since those spats seems to be about whether or not Slipknot were ready to record a new album, and Jordison, clearly, thought that they were ready. This means that Slipknot’s new album will now be short contributions from not one but two members, of both of whom were known in the past to be major contributors to the songwriting process.

Slipknot already had a lot to prove with this next album; now it may be the most important album of their career.
