Sloppy Secondz’ “LA Deli” is the Best Hair Metal Song About a Deli Ever

A recent episode of Comedy Central’s Kroll Show chronicled the attempts of fictional hair metal vocalist Nash Rickey to reunite his old band, Sloppy Secondz. As part of the episode, they made a “classic” Sloppy Secondz video for a song called “L.A. Deli” (presumably about Canter’s), and it has to be the most spot-on parody of a hair metal video ever made by anyone who isn’t Steel Panther. The cast (which in addition to the show star and namesake, Nick Kroll, includes Jason Mantzoukas, co-host of one of my favorite podcasts) just totally NAILED the body language and mannerisms of these kinds of bands. Even the way the color is faded, like someone taped it off of VH1, is just, m’wah!, perfect.
