Lacuna Coil “Die & Rise”

Lacuna Coil have released the second single from their forthcoming Black Crown Halo, “Die & Rise,” and while musically I don’t really have an issue with it (kinda digging that chunky riff n’ disco beat), the lyrics are so silly that it’s almost impossible to listen to the song without laughing. “Werewolf in the night light/ You won’t believe your eyes”? “Take a bite out of life”? I know these guys were never exactly poets laureate, but oy gevalt. Maybe I never really understood what “Set me free, your heaven’s a lie/ Set me free with your love” meant, but at least it wasn’t, like, the most hackneyed cliché ever.
