Meet Akani, Featuring Current and Former Members of At the Gates, Entombed, Soilwork, and Merauder

Did this month’s new offerings from Devil You Know and Killer Be Killed fail to satiate your appetite for supergroups? Well, feast on this, motherfuckers: the band is called Akani, and they count amongst their members vocalist Jorge Rosado (Merauder), guitarists Anders Björler  (At the Gates, ex-The Haunted) and Daniel Antonsson (Dimension Zero, ex-Soilwork, ex-Dark Tranquillity), bassist Victor Brandt (Entombed, ex-Satyricon) and drummer Anders Lowgren (Dead Reprise). That line-up certainly suggests quality, and based on the band’s newly-released song “Who’s to Blame?”, it seems safe to say fans ain’t gonna be disappointed. I can’t foresee anyone who likes the members’ other bands being down on this larger-than-life, anthemic Swedecore tune. Listen:

“Who’s to Blame?” will appear on Akani’s four-track 7″, Santa Muerte, which is scheduled for a May release via Demons Run Amok Records.
