You Won’t Have to “Wait,” Because There’s a New Acoustic Sevendust Song Streaming Right Now

Sevendust - Time Travelers & Bonfires

Sevendust’s music lends itself so well to the acoustic treatment, and I’m sure that’s why they’ve decided to release their second acoustic album in April. Without the distortion or loud drums you can clearly hear what I’ve long argued separates this band from their active rock / nu-metal / whatever-you-wanna-call-it contemporaries: really interesting and unique chord voicings (and, in this case, tunings), expert arrangements, strong vocal melodies, nuanced harmonies, and, wait for it… good plain old songwriting.

“The Wait” is one of six brand new, original compositions that will appear on Sevendust’s upcoming, crowd-funded new acoustic album Time Travelers & Bonfires. Unlike their 2004 live acoustic album Southside Double-Wide, this one gets the proper in-studio treatment and will feature re-recorded versions of the band’s classics in addition to the six new cuts. It comes out on April 15th. Check out another new acoustic song called “Under It All” right here.
