Rivers of Nihil’s “Birth of the Omnisavior” Video: Never Before Has Standing In an Empty Room Been So Br00tal

Rivers of Nihil are one of those young bands that are so friggin’ good, I will happily use the little soapbox we’re fortunate enough to have to help promote them every chance I get. If you’re a death metal fan and you have yet to listen to the band’s debut album, The Conscious Seed of Light, you’re really robbing yourself of a special experience. And live? Pppfffft. Fuggedaboutit. They’re like a friggin’ super-fast steam roller — they will flatten you right the fuck out.

Which is just a long way of saying that I’m aware that the band’s new video for the song “Birth of the Omnisavior” is not necessarily the most visually stunning clip of all time. It’s clear that it was made with limited resources. But the director was smart enough to focus on what he had access to — the five amazing musicians who make up this band. So it doesn’t feel like it was shot and edited by someone on the verge of a coke overdose. You can actually watch the dudes play, and appreciate how skilled they are. This will really whet your appetite for seeing RoN live.

Check out the “Birth of the Omnisavior” video below. The Conscious Seed of Light was produced by the mighty Erik Rutan, and is out now on Metal Blade. Rivers of Nihil are currently on the road with Whitechapel, DevilDriver, Revocation, Carnifex, and Fit For An Autopsy, which is an INSANELY heavy bill. Get dates here. And don’t forget that we’re giving away two ESP LTD EC-50 BLKS model guitars, one signed by Whitechapel and one signed by DevilDriver, and VIP tickets to the tour. Enter our contest here!
