Cult of Luna Announce Additional North American Performances

UPDATE, February 2, 9:30am: Cult of Luna have just announced they won’t be playing NYC, although the other dates below still stand. Sorry, New Yorkers!

Original Post:

So a couple of weeks ago, it was announced that Sweden’s Cult of Luna were ending their hiatus to play The Psycho California Festival this May, where they’ll play alongside Sleep, Pentagram, Eyehategod, Tombs, Anciients, and a fuckload of other cool bands. It’s pretty rare for a band to fly all the way from one country to another for a one-off show, though, for obviously fiscal reasons.

So, no big shock here: Cult of Luna have now added two shows to their itinerary — one in Montreal and one in New York. Which is great news for those of us who can’t make it to Psycho California Fest and live in or near one of those cities!

Not-so-great news for those of us who can’t make it to Psycho California Fest and do not live in or near one of those cities: Metal Insider says that there won’t be any more shows added to this lil’ mini-tour. So if you’re desperate to see Cult of Luna (and who’d blame you?), you should probably put in for vacation days and start making traveling arrangements.

The band’s complete itinerary is…

May 13th – Montreal at Café Campus – Montréal
May 14th – New York The Gramercy Theatre
May 15th – Santa Ana at Psycho California

Uptown problem/embarrassment of riches alert: May 14 is also the second and (for now) final Faith No More show in New York, so some fans may have a tough choice to make, unless the set times magically don’t overlap. Oy!
