silveria sues kornIt’s not a secret that there’s no love lost between drummer/Scott Stapp lookalike David Silveria and his former bandmates in Korn — it was barely more than a year ago that he called bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu “a cowardly little bitch” and asserted that vocalist Jonathan Davis’ “balls were gone because his wife put them in a jar.” But now the skinsman has decided to take action considerably more hurtful than just calling the other Kornholers names: he’s suing them!

According to TMZ, “Silveria says his leave [from the band] in 2006 was merely a hiatus, and he never gave up his ownership interest in KoRn.” The drummer claims he tried to return to the band in 2013, but was shunned — which really hurt his feelings, because guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, who had also left the band for a number of years, was allowed to re-join the band. “Now,” the article continues, “he’s asking a judge to force the band to reveal how much cash they’ve made since he left — so he can get his cut — and then he wants to dissolve the partnership.”

We already know how this is going to end, because these kinds of lawsuits pretty much always end the same way: with an out-of-court settlement. All Silveria really wants is money anyway, and the band will be willing to pay him something less than whatever amount he’s seeking to make him go away, and he’ll be willing to take it. The suit is basically just a negotiating tactic. The real winners, as always, are the lawyers, whose billable hours will end up being some insanely high amount, I’m sure.

Point being: Korn fans need not worry! It shan’t be very long before the band is back to playing horrible music for millions of morons around the world, and Silveria goes back to being mostly forgotten. Nothing can upset the status quo!
