This Devil You Know Video is About the Darkness… and it Being Bright

Devil You Know Live Line-UpBack when Howard Jones was in Killswitch Engage, class clown Adam D. would always introduce “Fixation on the Darkness” and “When Darkness Falls” at the band’s live shows with some kind of racial epithet directed Jones’ way. “This song is about the time Howard fell down!” Etc.

I can only imagine what kind of intro Mr. D. would’ve come up with for “As Bright as the Darkness,” the latest video from Jones’ new band Devil You Know. The subject matter of both the song and the video is incredibly serious, so I probably shouldn’t jest, but all I can think about now is Adam D.’s mock death growl: “This song is about the darkness… and fixating on it!”

The video was directed by John Rockovich, and was made in collaboration with the You Rock Foundation, a group we’ve written about before that seeks to raise awareness about depression and suicide through music.

The Beauty of Destruction came out last year on Nuclear Blast.
