Ecstatic Vision (ex-A Life Once Lost) Won’t “Kill the Vibe”

Ecstatic Vision - Sonic PraiseFrom the ashes of A Life Once Lost, Ecstatic Vision hath risen. The new psychedelic band founded by former ALOL guitarist Doug Sabolick (and, if I’m not mistaken, some other members of that band’s final line-up) sounds nothing like Sabolick’s old group — whereas A Life Once Lost made you wanna participate in a loss of life, Ecstatic Vision make you wanna stop bathing and go live in a field somewhere with a girl named Moonflower who doesn’t shave her pits or believe in violence or monogamy or taxes. Still, besides the presence of Sabolick, the two bands have a couple of other things in common: they fucking rock, and their music goes great with hallucinogenics.

The band has now released their first-ever single, “Don’t Kill the Vibe,” from their first-ever album, Sonic Praise. You can check it out below, courtesy of Noisey, but you only if you promise me first that you’ll play it LOUD. Shit sounds good LOUD.

Sonic Praise is out June 30 on Relapse. Personally, I plan to crank it on a beach while I’m tripping balls; I think that will be fun. Regardless of your own plans for uses of the album, you can pre-order it here.
