Before there were blogs there were these things called magazines, and the only metal magazine we still get excited about reading every month is Decibel. Here’s managing editor Andrew Bonazelli…

None of us read too good, but let’s try to make our way through the title of Cattle Decapitation’s Flexi Series debut, “Cannibalistic Invasivorism,” anyway. According to my favorite internet resource who I only just heard of today, Yahoo Food Features Editor Alex Van Buren, invasivorism is “the act of eating invasive species, on purpose, in order to lower their numbers.” One can extrapolate by the addition of “cannibalistic” in the title that this particular ditty is about how we, the humanure, are in fact the invasive species, and should just eat ourselves right the fuck off the planet. Cattle Decap: always with that feel-good, old-time rock ‘n’ roll to soothe your soul!

The San Diego outfit’s seventh full-length, The Anthropocene Extinction, will be ready for conspicuous consumption in early August, and we’re pumped give you this blistering new slab of deathgrind that will not appear on the record. Arriving on metallic-silver-on-blue vinyl, “Cannibalistic Invasivorism” is four minutes on the nose of savagely grinding, grimacing, hair-whipping lunacy. About how useless we all are! Subscribe by Monday, June 8 at 9 a.m. EST to get your grimy hands on this sick new CDP track.
