Sh*t That Comes Out Today: July 17, 2015
Hello MetalSucks reader! Welcome to the second-ever Friday edition of Shit That Comes Out Today, your satanic bible of this week’s heavy new releases. We list ‘em, we spotlight ‘em, we link you to their preview jams and full streams — and we stick ‘em in a fancy Spotify playlist too (below) — all for your jammage! Now crank this shit up!
Empress/Abscess (Broken Limbs)
On a playlist with: Tempel, Vattnet Viskar, Pale Chalice
Listen Empress/Abscess full stream (here)
MetalSucks Senior Editor Anso DF got to it first: Empress/Abscess is a success. If success to you is measured by how often massive dollops of burnt sludge are dumped on you Nickelodeon-style, then yes, it really is a success. Welcomed, very, very welcomed.
Memphis May Fire
Unconditional deluxe (Rise)
On a playlist with: Sleeping With Giants, Of Mice And Men, Dogshit
Listen “My Generation” (here)
Ahem, “My generation is dying to be heard! Dying to be heard! And be understood!” We understand you alright. Now shut the hell up. #chargesforward #shakesbroom #emo #parentsrdumb #fuckthesystem
Next To None
A Light In The Dark (Inside Out)
On a playlist with: Barney’s Nursery Rhymes, Teletubbies, Satan
Listen “Blood On My Hands” (here)
Dude, these little motherfuckers are 15 years old! What’s maybe even more impressive than their age is how they say they’re going to do “a little bit of every genre” and they, uh, actually do! A pretty broad talent spectrum for kids who can’t even buy cigarettes or understand how fucking miserable life really is. Kiddos: don’t read that last part, just remember to keep rocking!
Visceral Infection (Horror Pain Gore Death)
On a playlist with: Cretin, Delete The Mass, Coffin Birth
Listen Visceral Infection full stream (here)
Goregrind? You can’t go wrong with that — I mean, it’s like making hot dogs. You boil them. Put ’em in a bun. Add ketchup and mustard. Big whoop! Well, Organ Dealer actually makes it a bit more complicated. Like a Chicaga’dawg. Lots and lots going on (sport peppers, relish, etc.), but still retaining the simple idea: to cram a fucking saucy meat tube down your throat.
Star Whores (Rotten Roll Rex)
On a playlist with: Howard Stern, Trey Parker & Matt Stone, Evil Richard Simmons
Listen Star Whores full stream (here)
A candidate for Worst Sounds Ever Created By Man (a title surely welcomed by Serrabulho), Star Whores is a story of 13 songs (whose titles range from “Buttman” to “Life Of A Penis”) that literally just fuck themselves. Also, I think the gallery-worthy album artwork dodges copyright/whatever law because it is “fair comment.” Who is its creator, and are they naked and covered in honey?
Trespassers EP (Church Of Fuck/Soaked In Torment)
On a playlist with: Pabst Blue Ribbon, Botch, Blood Command
Watch “Otherworldy” (here)
Short-form grind with a female front and hipster pretensions? If there ever was a MetalSucks baby, this is what would shoot out our asses with a silver trident in its hand! Ithaca’s got exactly the noise you’re looking for: formless, postmodern, intense, and furious in all the right spots!
