Here’s the Studio Version of Trivium’s New Song “Blind Leading the Blind”

trivium - inexpressive lady with goop on her handTrivium has released the studio version of “Blind Leading the Blind,” the song they played live for their first time earlier this week. This one follows the debut single “Silence in the Snow.”

As Axl said, one thing the song has going for it over those on Trivium’s past albums: it wasn’t produced by David Draiman! Huzzah!

Seriously, though: it also happens to be damn catchy. At this point in their career Trivium are what they are, and what they are is one of the more radio-friendly metal bands with lots of clean singing. And they’re pretty good at it. Sayeth Matt Heafy, “Don’t love it? Our old stuff still exists. Love it? Awesome.” So while I do prefer the faster / more aggressive Trivium of yore — and Trivium aren’t, like, extreme or br00tal or whatever anyway — I’ll take songs like “Blind Leading the Blind” over anything by Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Five Finger Death Punch, etc any day of the week. This is a really solid tune.

Inexpressive Lady with Goop on Her Hand comes out October 2nd via Roadrunner.
