Tour de Force

Danzig Will Paint It Blackest of the Black Once More, with Superjoint, Veil of Maya, Prong and Witch Mountain

Show of hands: who caught one of Danzig’s original Blackest Of The Black tours? I definitely caught a show. It must have been ’06, as I was still in college. Behemoth were there, and Nergal hung out after the show and talked to people. Meanwhile, Danzig and Doyle played a bunch of Misfits tracks together. It was, if I remember correctly, pretty sweet!

And it appears the sweetness and blackness are returning, as Danzig has revived the Blackest Of The Black tour in 2015, the first one since 2010’s outing with Marduk and Possessed. And this year’s line-up is no joke: the tour will feature Superjoint Ritual (always fun live), Veil of Maya (iiinteresting), Prong (oh, cool), and Witch Mountain (fucking sweet). The tour ends on Halloween in LA, a perfect closing show for a Danzig trek.

I’m not sure if you know this, dear readers, but we make fun of Danzig a lot (I could post separate links, but just start here). All that said, seeing Danzig live is a shit-ton of fun, so make an effort to get out there and catch him while he’s still performing. Hell, the dude is sixty. You might not get another chance.
