Bleeding Through Through Being Through

Today’s proof that the term “broken up” has lost all meaning and that all break-ups are really just hiatuses: Bleeding Through announced their impending dissolution in January of 2013, finished their farewell tour in 2013, kept playing shows through 2014, and have now begun to hint that they’re getting ready to come back.

Additionally, Lambgoat notes that “there were some recent Instagram comments between guitarist Scott Danough and drummer Derek Youngsma related to ‘brushing up’ on songs from [the band’s 2006 album] The Truth.”

So you could reasonably make the argument that Bleeding Through were inactive for about a year, and that’s it. Not quite the shortest break-up in history, but almost certainly in the top five.

The news that the metalcore sextet are getting ready to party like it’s Ozzfest 2006 will most certainly have ever extreme music fan in the world asking the same question: what does this mean for The Iron Son, the new project from now-former-former Bleeding Through frontman Brandan Schieppati?!?! For the past six months, everyone has been all, “OMG THE IRON SON OMG THE IRON SON FUCK METALLICA THE IRON SON,” and now we learn that Schieppati is probably gonna be busy next year. We can only hope that new albums from Anthrax, Megadeth, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Obscura, Nails, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Darkthrone somehow make up for the loss. They probably won’t, though.
