Stereogum has premiered a new Primitive Weapons song called “Panopticon Blues,” and I’ll be a Thy Art is Murder fan if it isn’t the best damn song ever written about the frustration of not being able to find your Isis record. As a total hophead, this is an issue with which I contend on a regular basis, and while there are already hundreds of metal songs to help me vent when my mom and dad won’t let me borrow the car, a girl doesn’t like me back, or I feel betrayed by my political and religious leaders, there has been no soundtrack for this particular conflict before now. Thanks, Primitive Weapons!

Check out “Panopticon Blues” below. The song will appear on Primitive Weapons’ new album, The Future of Death, which comes out April 15 via Party Smasher Inc., the label owned by Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman. Pre-order it here.
