May-tallica Continues with a Ukulele Cover of “Blackened”

Did that banjo cover of “Master of Puppets” tickle your nerd bone? Then boy have we got a treat for you: a ukulele cover of “Blackened.” Huzzah!

The four-stringed take on the Metallica classic comes as part of Rob Scallon’s annual May-tallica, in which he pays tribute to the biggest metal band of all time with a series of entertaining videos. For May-tallica last year, Scallon covered “Anesthesia” on the upright bass and he gave “Battery” the banjo treatment, amongst other hijinks.

This uke cover of “Blackened” is great and all — the guitar solo section is particularly entertaining — but what we wanna know is, where’s Scallon’s cover of Papa Het yarling his way through singing “Happy Birthday” to Willie Mays this past weekend? The world needs to know.
