Monte Pittman - Inverted Grasp of Balance

Monte Pittman’s new album, Inverted Grasp of Balance, was produced by Jay Ruston, who has also produced the last two Anthrax albums. To some degree, at least, that explains why Pittman’s new single, “Pride Comes Before the Fall,” sounds an awful lot like it would have fit in on either Worship Music or For All Kings (and maybe even We’ve Come for You All). That’s not a knock: “Pride” is a song of which Pittman can be, er… y’know. It’s straightforward enough to qualify as pop metal, but shreddy enough not to put off metal fans who think clean vocals and hooks are mortal sins. And, goddamn, Ruston knows how to bring the crunch. Hey, Ozzy: may hire Ruston to do your next solo album? Just a thought.

Check out “Pride Comes Before the Fall” below! Inverted Grasp of Balance comes out September 23 on Metal Blade. Holy shit, that’s, like, basically tomorrow. Awesome! Pre-order that shit here.
