Periphery, The Contortionist, Norma Jean and Infinity Shred Will Tour North America in Spring 2017

0

Were the ten bazillion tours already announced for early 2017 that we highlighted earlier today not enough for you? Time to add another one to the calendar and start searching for spare change in the couch cushions now: another bigun’s just been revealed.

Lambgoat is reporting that Periphery will headline the second-ever incarnation of the Sonic Unrest Tour (they headlined the first one, too), which will hit mostly secondary U.S. markets. The Contortionist and Norma Jean will fill the middle of the bill, while newcomers Infinity Shred — a retro ’80s throwback that’s mostly electronic, in line with what we cover here on Synthwave Sunday — will open each night.

That’s an incredibly diverse bill, exactly the kind we like most. I especially love Norma Jean’s presence on what’s otherwise a younger, more progressive-skewing lineup; bring that noise! And I’d seen Periphery guitarist Mark Holcomb Tweeting about Infinity Shred in recent days… so it all makes sense now.
