And the Winner of the Mario Duplantier Toontrack Drumception Contest is…

0

Thanks to all nearly THREE HUNDRED of you who entered our Drumception contest.

Gojira’s Mario Duplantier wrote and recorded a song on the drums using the new Rythme Sauvage MIDI pack, his recent Toontrack release of drum MIDI grooves for EZdrummer 2 and Superior Drummer 2. And then we asked you all to write and record your own guitar parts over it.

Mario himself has now sifted through the entries… and here are the winners! But first, a quick comment from the man himself:

“Overall I have to say I am genuinely impressed with the level of talent displayed by all the musicians who participated. Listening to all of the submissions actually inspired me to write new music for Gojira, there was a lot of original and technical talent to be heard. It was incredibly difficult to chose only 3 finalists. In music there aren’t really any defined winners, as the art is so subjective, so I focused on different criteria – originality, precision, interpretation, and emotion. Here are my 3 choices, thank you to everyone who participated.”

Grand Prize:

Congratulations Shamus, you’ve won the full suite of Toontrack core products in the EZ Line — EZdrummer 2, EZmix 2, EZkeys— plus a slew of metal expansions for each. In addition, our friends at Alclair were kind enough to throw in a set of Tour Triple Driver in-ear monitors!
