Straight Outta “€ompton,” Some Crazy Motherfuckers Named Friendship

I listened to Friendship’s new song, “€ompton,” thinking I was gonna get a happy lil’ ditty about the power of hugs to solve all the woes of the international economy. Boy, was I duped. As it turns out, Friendship plays a style of grindcore that is somewhat akin to having your skull repeatedly slammed in a door by someone with the ability to move her arms at an inhuman speed. Even when the song slows down towards the end, it’s about as welcoming as the organizers of a xxx meeting would be towards Phil Labonte.

I’m thinking this whole ‘Friendship’ moniker may be ironic, you guys. I dunno, just a hunch.

Listen to “€ompton” below, courtesy of Invisible Oranges, and decide for yourself. The track will appear on Friendship’s new album, I&II, which comes out February 17 on Sentient Ruin. Pre-order it here.
