Revocation Have a Song in the Upcoming Power Rangers Movie

Power Rangers Movie 2017Hooray for metal bands getting movie syncs! Getting a song placed in a major film is essentially the metal equivalent of winning the lottery, and can be a huge source of income in one fell swoop. Sure beats filling water bottles with piss while trapped inside a fart-filled, run down van for hours and hours.

So extra kudos to the dudes in Revocation, who just landed a sweet song placement in the upcoming Power Rangers film. A document leaked to MetalSucks by tipster Rusty Shackleford from the film’s distributor Lionsgate lists the song “Communion,” from their 2016 album Great is Our Sin, as appearing in the film alongside tracks by Twenty One Pilots, The Raconteurs,  George Strait, Tove Lo, Explosions in the Sky, Social Distortion, Destiny’s Child and more:

No word on how the song will be utilized in the film — a fight sequence would be the bomb! — but hopefully Revocation are getting hella paid. And if the dudes in the band are of the age that they grew up on Power Rangers — which I believe they are — this placement must be doubly sweet.

Here’s a synopsis of the movie:

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove — and the world — is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac), Saban’s Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, featuring Bill Hader, with Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks. The screenplay is by John Gatins (Kong: Skull Island, Real Steel) and story is by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless (Dracula Untold) and Michele Mulroney & Kieran Mulroney. Producers are Haim Saban, p.g.a. (“Power Rangers” creator), Brian Casentini, p.g.a. (“Power Rangers” TV series), and Marty Bowen, p.g.a. and Wyck Godfrey, p.g.a. (The Twilight Saga, The Fault in Our Stars, The Maze Runner franchise.

Power Rangers comes out on March 24th. If you go see it, let us know how they use the Revocation song!
