Winds of Plague “Putting the Finishing Touches” on New Record

It’s been nearly four years since the last Winds of Plague record, which, in metal time, is long enough for a band to practically be forgotten. By now, you may very well have grown accustomed to a world without Winds of Plague. You may even have come to the conclusion that the band is never coming back and tucked them into the dark recesses of your mind, under “Potential scary stories to tell the grandkids someday.”

Well, FUCK YOU, BRUH! The band’s frontman and namesake, Johnny Plague, has released the following statement, which suggests a new WoP release is very much on our horizon:

“I wanted to take a minute from the craziness of life, shoot a quick update on the record status, and thank everyone for their patience.

“We are putting the finishing touches on the record: working in the epic orchestral arrangements. I couldn’t be happier with how it’s coming together. It is proving to be everything I could ever want in a WOP record. What stands out to me so far is how seamlessly we are able to blend many elements that create the signature WOP sound through solid song craftsmanship, fast black metal riffs, crushing breakdowns, and over the top orchestral production.

“Another huge milestone this record is setting in my opinion is my vocal performance. Producers Noah Sebastian and Joakim Karlsson really pushed and helped me to find new vocal tones and ranges I didn’t even know I was capable of.

“After 10 years of making music I finally feel I’m going to get the WOP record I’ve always wanted and I know the fans will feel the wait was worth it.”

The question, of course, is “Just HOW terrible is the record Johnny has ‘always wanted’?” Unfortunately, we will probably have to find out the hard way… by hearing it.
