Track Premiere: Dan Terminus, “Margaritifer”
The Big Four of dark synthwave: Perturbator, GosT, Carpenter Brut, Dan Terminus. There it is.
In February, 2015, Dan Terminus released the groundbreaking, genre-defining album The Wrath of Code. Since that time synthwave has exploded onto the international scene, in no small part because of him.
On November 10th, Dan Terminus will launch himself back into the conversation with the release of Automated Refrains via Blood Music, and today MetalSucks is proud to premiere the very first single from the Lyon, France native’s forthcoming album.
“Margaritifer” has everything you’d hope for and expect from Terminus following The Wrath of Code: hard-charging beats, synth tones that cut and slice, and, most importantly — Terminus’s secret weapon — masterfully crafted songwriting with gigantic hooks. It goes hard as fuck. You will go hard as fuck. Everyone will.
Here’s what Mr. Terminus himself has to say about the track:
“Machines left to their own device, gathering under the sun and singing words whose meaning they think they forgot. It is an album about machines and their life in a world they have no recollection of.”
Pre-order Automated Refrains here before its November 10th release (if the album isn’t listed in the store yet, be patient — Blood Music tells us it should be up by Friday).
