Every Time I Die to Open for Fall Out Boy

Every Time I Die and Fall Out Boy have a bit of a shared history. Despite their obvious differences in musical style, Fall Out Boy are more metal than you think: drummer Andy Hurley teamed up with ETID’s Keith Buckley for The Damned Things, a band also featuring Scott Ian (Anthrax), Rob Caggiano (Volbeat ex-Anthrax) and ex-Every Time I Die bassist Josh Newton. Hurley also played for a spell in Enabler, and has been known to rep Cannibal Corpse and Slayer during his drum solos in Fall Out Boy’s live sets.

The two bands are taking things to the logical next step this coming summer and fall when Every Time I Die will open select dates of Fall Out Boy’s North American tour. Machine Gun Kelly will be direct support to Fall Out Boy on all dates, and there’s a whole slew of bands sharing the opening slot, ETID among them. The tour will run August 29th through October 10th, and while the exact dates ETID will appear on haven’t been announced yet we will surely let you know when they do.

There sure are gonna be some surprised faces in the audience when Every Time I Die go on and rip it up. I expect the band will bring it extra hard for the occasion.
