Lamb of God Release Mysterious Burn the Priest Video

It would appear that Lamb of God are doing something that is somehow related to their original moniker, Burn the Priest.

A new video released by the band shows frontman Randy Blythe walking into what appears to be a rehearsal space before the Burn the Priest logo appears. The video also arrives with a #BurnthePriest hashtag and Friday’s date, suggesting — duh — that whatever it is they’re up to, we’ll know a few days from now.

I can’t imagine anyone reading this is unaware, but just in case: Burn the Priest was Lamb of God’s original name. They released one album under that moniker, a self-titled record, in 1999. The only line-up difference between Burn the Priest and Lamb of God was guitarist Abe Spear, who was eventually replaced by Willie Adler, brother of drummer Chris Adler. The moniker caused all sorts of headaches for the band (e.g., venues that wouldn’t book them), and they took the re-jiggered line-up as an opportunity to re-brand themselves. The rest, obviously, is history.

So… yeah. No clue what this means, but you’ll know more as soon as we do.
