Here’s a New KEN Mode Song, “Feather and Lips”

0

The rad Canadians in KEN Mode, most likely not realizing it was the eve of July 4th here in the States, released a new song called “Feather and Lips” on Tuesday. That’s why we’re just posting about it now.

Not that I can blame them: America is dumb! They should release music when they damn well feel like it. I just spent four days in Canada and absolutely loved it there (Halifax, Nova Scotia, if you’re wondering). As a bonus, MetalGF and I were there for Canada Day (the country’s equivalent of July 4th) and got to witness Canadians reveling in the sanity and humble spirit of their non-shitty country. We witnessed thousands of Canadians gather in public places to celebrate, donned in garb supporting their country but lacking all the negative connotations of doing so in the U.S. It was really something!

Speaking of politics, here’s frontman Jesse Matthewson’s comments on the new track:

“I’ve never understood why so many of the most aggressive and extreme/cruel political figures are also the least likely candidates to win in an actual fight. This isn’t exclusive to either side of the spectrum. There’s a hole in these people that is being filled with being a dick to and/or trying to control other humans with some of the most irrational bullshit. And their voices are always the ones being heard, because they tend to be yelling the loudest…”

Until the day we all stop threatening to move to Canada and actually do so, we can live vicariously through KEN Mode. Check out their ripping new song “Feather and Lips” below along with a music video, and get ready for their new album Loved, out August 31st. Check out another song from the album called “Doesn’t Feel Pain Like He Should” here.
