Earth Release Melty, Gloomy New Single “The Colour of Poison” From Forthcoming Album

0

Earth have been placing their own stamp on music and redefining the doom genre by blending influences ranging from English folklore to Cormac McCarthy to a cult following for the past three decades. Band creator Dylan Carlson is back at it again on the band’s new album Full Upon Her Burning Lips, this time with new percussionist Adrienne Davies.

Earth’s newest single, “The Colour of Poison,” offers more of the Black Sabbath-inspired doom and gloom for which the band has become known with a simmering, boiling soundscape, and a sweet release of pent up energy through heavy and corrosive riffs in the song’s closing moments. Carlson states:

“In the past I’ve usually had a strong framework for an album. This one developed one over the course of the writing and recording. It just felt like ‘Earth’—like just the two players doing their best work at playing, serving the music.”

Full Upon Her Burning Lips is set for release on May 24th via Sargent House. Pre-orders are available here, and their newest single can be streamed below. You’ll thank us later. You can also catch the band during their North American tour with Helms Alee at the dates posted underneath the embed.
