I re-watched Beetlejuice for the first time in awhile last Halloween, and holy shit, does it ever hold up. There’s a lot to savor in the movie, from the great performances to the old-school effects, but one of the film’s most memorable elements remains the score by Danny Elfman. It’s still a stand-out from a career that would be legendary regardless.

So you should all be stoked to learn that the might Exmortus have now translated Elfman’s Beetlejuice theme into the language of metal. So now the piece has the one thing it was always missing: skin-stripping shredding!

Check out Exmortus’ Danny Elfman’s “Beetlejuice” below. The track will appear on the band’s new Halloween-themed EP, Legion of the Undead, which comes out October 25 via the band’s own Exmortus Music (in cooperation with M-Theory Audio). Pre-orders are here. The band goes on tour with Death Angel starting in November. Get dates and tickets here.
