Tool Fans are PISSED They Haven’t Received Their Fear Inoculum Deluxe Edition Orders Yet

0

Earlier today, Tool announced they’re releasing an “expanded book edition” of Fear Inoculum, including a 56-page booklet and a few other goodies packaged with a CD of the album. Cool, right? Tool fans are gonna be stoked for this because they’re stoked for everything the band does, right?

Nooooooope. A quick look at the social media comments on Tool’s announcement of the expanded book edition shows that fans are fucking PISSED. And they’re pissed because they still haven’t received the deluxe edition copies of Fear Inoculum they ordered back on September 5 (when the band announced a second run of those after the first run disappeared instantly) despite initial promises those would ship “at the end of September.”

Take a look at some of comments Tool fans have been posting on the band’s Instagram:

And so on and so forth. There are hundreds more like this, with a lot of folks responding to those above them with a simple “same!” and some even sharing their order numbers in an attempt to construct a timeline of when items might be shipped out sequentially. All customer services responses, according to one user, are addressed with “a bullshit form letter that they send to everyone.”

While I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation for the delay — manufacturing problem or greater than expected demand, for example — there is no excuse for poor communication. And it seems that Tool’s team or whoever is fulfilling these orders has not done a good job of informing their customers of what the hold up is and when to expect the goods they paid for, now six weeks late.

That said, one MetalSucks reader who placed a deluxe edition order on September 5, sent in a customer service request after today’s announcement and received a quick reply. Here’s a screen shot:

So here’s to hoping everyone receives their goods very soon and can promptly return to being rabid over every item the band puts out. Have other folks who ordered the second run of deluxe edition sets back in September been receiving the same emails today as the above? Please email us at [email protected] with your experience. And, naturally, please let us know if your orders do indeed land next week as promised.
