Corey Taylor Has 26 Songs Written for Solo Album

0

Three pieces of Corey Taylor-related news in less than a week… what did we ever do to get so lucky? It’s like the heyday of the first half of 2019 all over again. Bless!

We’ve been hearing about a Corey Taylor solo joint for some time now, and if The Mighty One has his way that’ll see the light of day in 2021. The Most Important Carbon Life Form Ever tested the idea out with a few one-off live performances earlier this year, although those shows consisted entirely of covers. Undeterred by Slipknot’s busy touring schedule and new album release, he’s been utilizing some current downtime between runs to write songs for his eventual solo effort — 26 so far, to be exact!

Speaking to What Culture, Taylor said:

“It’s been cool to kind of start building the momentum for a potential solo run… It’s definitely going to be rock-based, but it’s going to be rock meets so many different things. There will be harder-edged stuff, but there also will be big, expansive, huge, world-changing guitar songs that you’re going to want to sing along to. That’s just who I am, and I’m not going to fight who I am. I’ve got 26 songs written, and I’m not done yet.”

Way to keep us on the edge of our seats, Corey! You tantalizing hunk, you.
