Watch This Stripped Down Rammstein Show from 1994

0

If you’ve seen German metallers Rammstein live, you know that their sets are nothing short of extravagant. The band typically play massive stadiums with huge lights and screens and fireworks blasting continuously into the sky. It’s one of the most compelling aspects about them: they go hard, and their real-deal performances are a must-see.

In this recently-unearthed video from 1994, Rammstein can be seen playing “Weisses Fleisch,” which eventually landed on their 1995 album, Herzeleid, on a much smaller stage. It was their first year as a band, and the set is way more intimate than we’re accustomed to seeing them. There’s still fire, though it’s probably way less safe than the pyro at their stadium shows (which makes it twice as fun, even if the audience looks scared). More than anything, there’s still a ton of sweat.
