Hatebreed’s New Album Has Been “Postponed Indefinitely”

With every tour in the world now cancelled or postponed, you should start getting used to the idea that many albums, no matter how highly anticipated, will soon meet the same fate. Enslaved have already delayed their new record, Utgard, from the spring to the fall, which actually seems a little naive because the world will likely still be in a very topsy-turvy place in the fall.

Now Jamey Jasta tells the Twittersphere that Hatebreed’s new album, which was also originally scheduled for a spring release, has been “postponed indefinitely”:

That’s a bummer, but it also seems much wiser than setting a new release date now; if the idea is to hold the album until the pressing plants have re-opened and the band can tour and promote it properly, well, we really have no idea when that’s gonna happen at this point. Might as well just bench it for now and wait to announce a new release date/ season/ whatever until we have a better sense of when the world will get back to something at least kinda-sorta resembling “normal.”

In the meantime, Hatebreed had already released a first single, “When the Blade Drops,” so at least we have that enjoy for the time being.
