Members of Soilwork, Warbringer, Venom Inc. and Allegaeon Team Up on New Song

Soilwork guitarist Taylor Nordberg and Venom Inc. drummer Jeramine Kling have been making the most of their quarantines, collaborating on a new project called Smoke & Mirrors thanks to the wonders of the information superhighway. The duo has written, recorded and released six songs over the past week and a half, and today’s entry sees them collaborating with Allegaeon vocalist Riley McShane and Warbringer bassist Chase Bryant on a new track directly inspired by Floridian death metal.

This quarantine we’re all under is affecting life in all sorts of ways, but I, for one, am extremely glad technology is at a place that collaborations like this — involving musicians located thousands of miles away from one another — are possible. Can you imagine quarantining 100 years ago and being stuck with no communication outside your immediate family? Or even 30 years ago without the internet?? The horror!!

Stream “Drag Them to the Guilotine” below and check out the other Smoke & Mirrors entries — featuring more guest collaborators experimenting with a wide variety of metal styles — on Bandcamp.
